Three quotes you can actually compare
The homeowner side of Dwellinger is in design. What exists today is the method behind it, and one contractor using it on real projects in London.
Why quotes are so hard to compare
One builder sends a figure. Another sends two pages. The third sends twenty. None of them list the same things. The cheapest often excludes the steels, the Building Control fees or the scaffold, and you find out on site.
What scope-led means
Before a price, a scope: what is included, what is excluded, what is an allowance because you have not chosen it yet, and what is assumed. Section by section, shell to finishes. Then a price per section and, where useful, three tiers. That is the document Dwellinger produces for the contractors who use it.
What you can do today
Dwellinger does not list or match contractors yet. RCB Group, the London contractor that built the platform, works this way on every project: site survey, scope of works, estimated quotation, then a contract with stage payments. Site surveys are paid (owners £99.90 + VAT, non-owners £250 + VAT), and RCB Group does not describe surveys as free.
What is coming
- Post a project and receive scope-led estimates from contractors on the platform.
- A vetting standard that is documented before any contractor is listed.
- Project tracking, stage payments and handover documents in one place.
Want to hear when it opens? Use the contact form and choose "Developer or landlord" or "Other".
Questions contractors ask us
Can I post my project today?
Not yet on Dwellinger. Today, the fastest route is RCB Group's own enquiry form, which uses the same platform to produce a scope-led estimated quotation after a site survey.
Is the contractor matching free for homeowners?
That is the intended model: free for homeowners, paid by contractors. It is not live yet and we will not describe it as if it were.
How are contractors checked?
The vetting process is being designed around insurance, company status, reviews and real portfolio evidence. Until it is built and documented, Dwellinger does not list or endorse any contractor other than RCB Group.
What does scope-led mean for me?
You get a document that lists what is included, what is excluded, what is an allowance and what is assumed, section by section, before a price is attached. It is the only way three quotes can be compared fairly.
