Responsive Repairs

Priority-graded responsive repair service for council-managed stock. Emergency, urgent and routine categories managed to your SLAs, with digital job completion records.

Void Property Turnaround

Full void refurbishment — strip-out to re-let ready. Fixed price, fixed programme and photographic handover report. Typical turnaround 2–4 weeks per unit.

Disabled Adaptations

Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) adaptation works for council tenants — level-access showers, ramps, stair lifts, wider doorways and kitchen adaptations to OT specification.

Capital Works Programmes

Major capital investment programmes — roofing, window replacement, external envelope works, communal area upgrades and electrical rewires across multiple properties.

Decent Homes Standard

Planned improvement works to bring properties up to or maintain the Decent Homes Standard — kitchen and bathroom replacements, heating upgrades and insulation programmes.

Estate Improvements

Hard landscaping, bin store improvements, cycle shelter installation, communal lighting upgrades and estate-wide external works programmes managed to programme.

Compliance & Standards

Full Regulatory Compliance as Standard

Working with local authorities demands the highest standards of compliance, documentation and accountability. RCB is structured to meet these requirements as a matter of course — not as an exception.

We are currently registering on Constructionline to support council procurement frameworks. In the meantime, we can provide all compliance documentation directly — insurance certificates, accreditation records, method statements, RAMS and Health & Safety documentation — on request.

Every project delivers a full compliance pack at handover: photographic reports, EICR certificates, gas safety records, asbestos confirmation and any additional council-specific documentation required.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you registered as an approved contractor with local authorities?
RCB Design & Build works directly with local authority housing and property teams across London and the South East. We are currently registering on Constructionline to support formal procurement frameworks. We hold £5M public liability and £10M employers liability insurance and are verified on Checkatrade. Contact us with your procurement requirements and we will provide all documentation needed to support your approved contractor process.
Can you respond to urgent and emergency repairs?
Yes. RCB operates a priority-graded responsive repair service with emergency, urgent and routine response categories. We can agree response time SLAs with your housing or property management team and provide digital job completion records — including photographs — for every instruction.
Do you work to the Decent Homes Standard?
Yes. RCB delivers planned improvement works to bring council-managed properties up to the Decent Homes Standard, including kitchen and bathroom replacement programmes, heating upgrades, window replacement and thermal insulation works. We are familiar with the Decent Homes assessment criteria and deliver works to the required specification and standard.
How do you manage works in occupied council properties?
All works in occupied properties include a resident communication plan before programme commencement. We produce advance notice letters, agree access arrangements with tenants and provide a named RCB contact for residents throughout the works. Our operatives are briefed on resident-facing conduct, and DBS checks are available for schemes involving vulnerable tenants.
What compliance documentation do you provide?
RCB provides a full compliance document pack at project completion — including photographic condition reports, electrical installation certificates (EICR), gas safety certificates (where applicable), asbestos confirmation records and fire safety compliance documentation. We can produce additional documentation to your council's specific handover requirements.
