Modern dental surgery fit-out

For Dental Practices

Surgery Fit-Outs That Pass Inspection.

HTM 01-05 decontamination. Lead-lined X-ray rooms. LEV. DDA access. CQC-ready. A dental fit-out is one of the most regulated builds there is — and we build it that way.

Why Most Builders Fail a Dental Fit-Out

A dental practice is one of the most regulated fit-outs there is — and most builders have no idea. They do not understand HTM 01-05 decontamination flow, they have never lined an X-ray room, and they treat your CQC registration as your problem, not theirs. They underquote, blow the programme, and hand back a surgery that fails inspection. Every week the practice cannot open is a week of lost patients and lost income — and the builder is long gone.

Decontamination room fails HTM 01-05 dirty-to-clean separation
X-ray room built without correct lead shielding — radiation sign-off refused
No LEV in the lab or decon area — CQC inspection flagged
Surgery downtime far longer than promised — appointment book gutted
Vague quote, then “unforeseen” clinical requirements added every week

RCB exists to be the contractor who understands clinical compliance — and gets your practice open and inspection-ready.

Three Reasons Practices Choose RCB

You do not buy a builder. You buy an outcome. Here is the outcome a dental fit-out with RCB delivers.

Solutions

We solve the compliance problems that catch dental fit-outs out — HTM 01-05, radiation shielding, LEV, infection control, DDA access — under one accountable roof, so you are not the one coordinating clinical specialists.

Convenience

One contractor manages design, services, equipment coordination and building control, working around your appointment book with phased and out-of-hours options. A single point of contact, one programme, weekly updates.

Experience

The result is a practice that passes inspection, runs the way your team works, and reassures patients the moment they walk in — calm, clean, professional and built to last.

How Your Fit-Out Works

Four stages. One programme. You always know where you are — and what happens next.

01

Survey & Compliance Plan

We survey the premises, review your equipment schedule and map the compliance requirements — HTM 01-05, radiation, LEV, DDA. You get a clear plan and programme tied to your CQC and opening timeline.

02

Design & Consents

We develop the clinical layout with you, coordinate radiation protection advice, and handle planning and Building Regulations. Decontamination flow and shielding are designed in from the start.

03

Fit-Out & Services

Structural works, services, compressor and suction runs, surgery installation and finishes delivered to programme. Your equipment supplier installs on our programme — we coordinate, not fight. Phased and out-of-hours where needed.

04

Handover & Inspection-Ready

Snagging complete, deep clean done, compliance documentation issued and the practice handed over ready for CQC inspection. Open on the date we agreed.

Why Practice Owners Choose RCB

Accreditations are not wallpaper. They are the evidence your inspector, insurer and indemnity provider ask for.

Dental Fit-Out FAQs

Do you build to HTM 01-05 and CQC standards?

Yes. We design and build decontamination rooms to HTM 01-05 dirty-to-clean flow and construct the fabric of the practice to meet the standards CQC inspect against. We do not act as your CQC registration agent — that remains the practice owner's responsibility — but we make sure the build itself supports a successful inspection, and we provide the documentation to evidence it.

Can you build a lead-lined X-ray or CBCT room?

Yes. We construct radiation-shielded rooms to the specification set out in your radiation protection advisor's report, including lead lining to walls, doors and viewing panels as required. We coordinate with your RPA so the room is built to the assessed standard and ready for sign-off.

Can you keep the practice open while you work?

Wherever the layout allows, yes. We can phase works so part of the practice keeps trading, and we offer out-of-hours and weekend working to protect your appointment book. We agree the phasing plan up front so you know exactly which surgeries are affected and when.

Can you convert a shop or office into a dental practice?

Yes. We convert retail, office and residential units into fully compliant dental practices — handling change-of-use planning, structural alterations, clinical services, decontamination and radiation rooms, and DDA-compliant access. We assess the premises first so you know it can meet clinical requirements before you commit.
