For Schools, Colleges & Education Facilities
Construction That Works Around Your School — Not the Other Way Around.
CHAS accredited. DBS-checked teams. Safeguarding compliant. Holiday and term-time scheduling. RCB provides the structure and compliance that educational facilities require.
What Facilities Managers Deal With Every Day
Most contractors do not understand the education environment. They treat your school like any other site — no awareness of safeguarding obligations, no flexibility around the school calendar, and no accountability when their works disrupt a GCSE class. The construction industry's lack of process costs schools time, money, and stress they cannot afford.
RCB comes with the compliance documentation, the scheduling flexibility, and the professionalism that education sites require.

How an Education Project Works
From first contact to clean handback — structured around your school calendar, not ours.
Initial Site Survey
We visit outside school hours — early morning, evening, or weekend. We assess the scope, understand the site constraints, and identify safeguarding considerations before we price anything.
Scope, Cost Plan & Programme Issued
Full written scope of works, itemised cost plan, and programme tied to your school calendar — including term dates, exam periods, and required handback dates.
Compliance Pack Provided
DBS certificates, CHAS accreditation, Constructionline verification, insurance certificates, method statements, and risk assessments — everything your premises manager or academy trust needs.
Works Delivered to Schedule
Team arrives as agreed, works within the contained zone, follows your safeguarding protocols, and reports to your nominated contact every day.
Clean Handback
Site fully cleared and cleaned. Snagging resolved. Completion documentation issued. Ready for pupils to return — on the date we agreed from the start.
Credentials Education Clients Require
Pre-qualification documentation, accreditations, and independent verification — ready when your procurement team asks.
CHAS Accreditation
The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme. Required by most local authority and academy trust procurement processes. Certificate available on request.
Constructionline Verified
Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) data held and verified by Constructionline. Accepted by most public sector procurement frameworks.
Education Client FAQs
Are all your workers DBS checked?
Yes. All RCB employees and subcontractors working on education sites are required to hold a current enhanced DBS check. We will provide copies of relevant certificates as part of our pre-start compliance pack. We do not allow any worker on site who cannot evidence a current DBS clearance.
Are you CHAS accredited?
Yes. CHAS accreditation is maintained annually and covers health and safety, financial standing, and legal compliance. This is the standard required by most local authorities, academy trusts, and multi-academy trusts for contractor approval. Our Constructionline verification can also satisfy pre-qualification requirements for larger tender processes.
Can you work during term time without disrupting lessons?
Yes, where required. We design work zones, hoarding arrangements, and programme sequencing to allow term-time delivery with minimal classroom disruption. Noise-heavy works (breaking out, drilling, chasing) are typically scheduled for before 8:30am, after 3:30pm, or during lunch periods — agreed with the school in advance.
Do you carry out emergency and reactive works?
Yes. We can respond to emergency maintenance situations — roof leaks, structural issues, fire damage, water ingress — with priority mobilisation. Contact us directly on our main number for urgent situations and we will assess how quickly we can attend.
Can you quote from drawings and specifications?
Yes. If your academy trust or local authority has produced drawings, specifications, or a schedule of works, we can price from documentation. We can also attend pre-tender site visits and provide a formal tender return in the required format.
