For Fire Safety Consultants
Remediation Delivered to Building Safety Act Standards.
Post-Grenfell, fire safety remediation demands a contractor who understands BS 8414, compartmentation, passive fire protection, and the Building Safety Act 2022. RCB delivers your remediation schedule — precisely, documented, and with the evidence trail your sign-off requires.
The Problem With Fire Remediation Contractors
Fire safety remediation is not a standard building job. The stakes are higher, the specification is tighter, and the documentation requirements are non-negotiable. Yet too many contractors in this space treat fire works as a cost-reduction exercise — substituting certified products, skipping stage photography, and delivering works that cannot be signed off because there is no audit trail. Post-Grenfell, the consequences of substandard remediation are not commercial. They are legal, regulatory, and in the most serious cases, life-safety.
RCB operates to the standard fire safety remediation demands — no substitutions, no shortcuts, no missing evidence.
Remediation Works We Deliver
From cladding replacement to penetration seals — scoped precisely to your fire strategy and delivered with full documentation.
External Cladding Replacement
Removal of non-compliant ACM or HPL cladding and replacement with tested systems meeting BS 8414 and BR 135. Works scoped to your fire engineer's specification — no deviation without written approval.
Fire Door Upgrades
Supply and installation of FD30 and FD60 certified fire doors, frames, and hardware. Correct intumescent strips, smoke seals, and self-closers installed to manufacturer specification. Evidence pack provided for each door.
Compartmentation Remediation
Works arising from compartmentation surveys — cavity barriers, fire stopping to service penetrations, linear gap seals, and structural compartmentation reinstatement. Photographic evidence at every stage.
Passive Fire Protection
Intumescent coatings, fire stopping products, and penetration seals to cable, pipe, and duct routes. Certified products specified and installed. All works referenced to your remediation schedule.

Credentials That Matter in Fire Remediation
CHAS accreditation means our health and safety management has been independently assessed. Constructionline means our financial standing and capability have been verified. These are not optional in fire safety work.
CHAS Accredited — Health & Safety Independently Verified
CHAS accreditation requires assessment of our health and safety policies, procedures, and compliance — not self-declaration. In fire safety remediation, where working at height, confined spaces, and hazardous materials are routine, this is not a nice-to-have. It is the baseline.
Fire Safety Consultant FAQs
Do you work directly from compartmentation survey reports?
Yes. We are experienced in reading compartmentation survey reports and translating the identified defects into a precise remediation scope. We work to your schedule — not a generic fire-stopping specification. If there are elements that require clarification, we contact you directly before scoping rather than making assumptions.
What product standards do you work to for fire stopping and passive protection?
We use products with tested and certified performance — typically third-party assessed to CERTIFIRE or equivalent. For fire doors, we work to BS 8214 and use doors and hardware from accredited manufacturers. Product data sheets and certificates are provided in the completion pack for every element of passive fire works.
Can you manage building control engagement for remediation works?
Yes. We are experienced with building regulations notifications for fire remediation works, including engagement with building control bodies and, where applicable, the Building Safety Regulator for higher-risk buildings. We coordinate this alongside your fire safety process and keep you informed at every regulatory gateway.
How do you handle product substitutions if a specified item is unavailable?
We do not substitute certified fire safety products without your written agreement. If a specified product is unavailable, we present the alternative with its certification details — same fire rating, equivalent or superior performance — and obtain your sign-off before proceeding. No substitutions are made on the basis of cost or convenience.
Do you carry out works under the Building Safety Act Principal Contractor role?
For higher-risk buildings, the Building Safety Act 2022 imposes specific duties on the Principal Contractor. We are familiar with these obligations and work alongside your consultant team, the Accountable Person, and the Building Safety Manager to ensure our works are delivered within the correct regulatory framework.
