For Structural Engineers
A Build Team That Reads Your Drawings and Builds to Them.
Structural engineers need a contractor who asks questions before works start, not during. Who photographs elements before cover-up. Who does not substitute your specified beam because a different one was easier to source. That is how we work.
What Happens When a Contractor Does Not Respect the Engineer's Drawings
Structural engineers put their name to a design. When a contractor deviates from that design without telling anyone, the engineer's liability does not disappear — it grows. Substituted sections, informal propping changes, and elements covered without inspection are not just poor practice. They are risks that sit on the engineer's professional record if something goes wrong.
RCB treats structural engineer drawings as the authority on site — not a suggestion.

How We Work With Structural Engineers
From design review to inspection sign-off — every step managed to protect your professional position.
Design Review and Query Submission
Before we price or start structural works, we review all engineer drawings in detail. We identify any queries, constructability concerns, or site condition risks and submit them to you in writing. Queries resolved before works start — not after.
Method Statement and Pre-Start Confirmation
We produce or confirm a method statement for all temporary works, propping, and structural installations. Your approval is obtained before we proceed. Works are sequenced to your structural specification — not around our trade programme.
Structural Works Delivery
Structural works installed to your drawings and specifications. Photographs taken at every stage. You are notified at inspection hold points before cover-up. Any site condition that deviates from design assumptions is flagged to you immediately, in writing.
Inspection and Sign-Off Support
Site is ready before we call for your inspection. Structural elements are accessible, well-lit, and photographically recorded. We provide all information needed for you to issue your inspection certificate. Your professional sign-off is supported — not complicated.

Structural Engineer FAQs
Do you follow structural drawings exactly as specified?
Yes. We do not substitute materials, sections, or connection details without written instruction from the engineer of record. If a specified section is not available from our usual supplier, we raise a query and wait for a written response before proceeding with an alternative. Your design intent is not negotiable on site.
How do you handle temporary works and propping during structural alterations?
We follow a method statement for all temporary works that is agreed before works start. If you have specified a propping arrangement, we follow it. If you have left it to the contractor to design temporary works, we engage a temporary works engineer and provide you with the scheme for review. We do not improvise on structural temporary works.
Will you notify us before covering structural elements?
Yes. We have a standing policy of photographic documentation before cover-up of all structural elements, and we notify the engineer of record at pre-agreed inspection hold points. We would rather wait a day for your inspection than create a situation where you have to rely on photographs alone.
Do you work on underpinning, basement, and foundation works?
Yes. We are experienced in underpinning, lower ground floor structural works, and basement construction. We work to mass concrete underpinning sequences, reinforced concrete specifications, and waterproofing systems. All such works are carried out under your structural specification and with building control involvement from the outset.
