For RICS Surveyors
A Contractor Your Clients Can Trust With Your Recommendation.
Every survey recommends works. The contractor who carries them out reflects directly on you. RCB delivers remedial works to the standard your professional reputation demands — documented, fixed-price, fully accredited.
The Problem With Surveyor Referrals
A RICS survey is only as useful as the contractor who acts on it. Too often, surveyors recommend works and clients hire whoever is cheapest — a contractor who skims the defects list, does what is visible, and leaves the structural or compliance issues untouched. Six months later, the client is back on the phone to you. Your report recommended the work. The contractor did not do it properly. And somehow, you are part of the conversation.
RCB makes surveyors look good — because we actually do what the report says.

A clear four-step process that mirrors the professional standard your report sets.
Share the Survey Report
Send us the survey. We read the full report, categorise the defects by urgency, and come back with a clear scope of remedial works — no ambiguity, no cherry-picking.
Fixed-Price Estimate Issued
A written estimate referencing each section of your report. The client sees exactly which defect is being addressed and at what cost. Transparent, professional, auditable.
Works Carried Out to Standard
Trades deployed, building control notified where required. Stage photos taken. Works completed to the remedial specification your report demands — not a faster, cheaper approximation.
Completion Pack Issued
Completion report, stage photos, all certificates, and any warranties compiled into a single handover pack. Available to share with your client, their solicitor, or their lender.
The Credentials Behind the Referral
RICS surveyors operate to a professional standard. The contractor you recommend should too.
Verified, Not Self-Declared
CHAS, Constructionline, FMB, TrustMark — each requires third-party verification of our insurance, health and safety practices, financial standing, and quality of work. Our Checkatrade 9.96/10 is from 114 independently verified homeowner reviews. No logo without evidence.
Surveyor FAQs
Do you work directly from RICS HomeBuyer and Building Survey reports?
Yes. We are accustomed to reading condition ratings and defect descriptions in RICS-format reports. We scope remedial works against the specific items flagged — not a generic scope that approximates the issue. If there is ambiguity in the report, we contact you directly before scoping rather than making assumptions.
Can you provide a completion certificate that references the original survey?
Yes. Our completion documentation confirms which defects have been addressed, the method of repair, any materials used, and references the relevant section of the original survey report. This creates a clear audit trail for the client, their solicitor, and for your own records.
What if building control approval is required for some of the remedial works?
We identify at the scoping stage which elements require building regulations consent — structural repairs, electrical works, roof alterations, and drainage works commonly do. We manage the application and ensure sign-off is obtained before final payment is released. You are not left with a client who has un-signed-off work.
How quickly can you respond to urgent defects?
For urgent or Category 3 defects — immediate safety concerns, active water ingress, structural instability — we can typically attend within 48 to 72 hours for an assessment. Programme for full remediation depends on scope, but we prioritise life-safety and weather-critical items.
