For Window & Door Companies
Your Product. Our Preparation. A Finished Result the Customer Loves.
Lintels checked. Openings prepared. Reveals plastered. External finish made good. We handle everything before and after your installation — so your window looks exactly as it should.
Why Window Installations Disappoint — and Who Gets the Blame
Window and door products are visible, expensive, and expected to perform from day one. When the structural preparation is wrong, the reveals are left in bare blockwork, or the external finish is not made good, the customer sees the result every time they look at their house. The window company takes the call — even when the builder caused every problem. The solution is a building partner who understands that your product is only as good as the work around it.
RCB prepares the structure, finishes the reveal, and makes good the facade — so your product always looks the way it should.
What RCB Delivers for Window & Door Companies
Structural preparation, programme coordination, and post-installation finishing — everything except the window itself.
Structural Preparation Done Right
- Lintel checks and replacements carried out before new windows are measured or ordered
- Openings enlarged, reduced, or formed where a change in window size requires structural work
- Building control notifications managed for structural alterations to window and door openings
- Party wall notices served where window or facade works affect adjoining owners
Reveals, Plastering & Decorating After Installation
- Internal reveals replastered and finished to a paint-ready standard — not a skim and walk
- External renders, cills, and pointing made good to match the existing facade
- Decorating inside and out where the installation disturbs existing finishes
- Draught-proofing, insulation, and airtightness details completed around new frames
Full Building Context — Not Just the Opening
- Bay window restorations and structural repairs coordinated with new window supply
- Loft conversion dormer windows managed as part of the wider loft project
- Extension glazing and bifold or patio door openings formed and finished
- Heritage and listed building window works coordinated with conservation officer requirements
Documentation That Supports Your Guarantee
- Structural preparation documented for your product warranty and building control records
- As-built photos and sign-offs available to support planning retrospective applications if required
- Building control sign-off on structural alterations issued before your product is installed
- Programme coordinated so your installation team arrives to a prepared, clean opening
How We Work With Window Companies
A four-stage process that puts your installation at the centre and everything else around it.
Pre-Survey & Structural Check
We survey the openings, check lintels and structural condition, and identify any preparation work required before measuring. You order the right product for the right opening — not a product that reveals a structural problem on installation day.
Structural Preparation Completed
All lintel replacements, opening formations, and building control sign-offs completed before your installation team arrives. The opening is structurally correct, clean, and ready.
Your Installation
Your team installs into a prepared opening. We coordinate our programme around your confirmed installation date — no waiting, no clashes, no half-finished site to navigate.
Reveals, Finish & Handover
After your team completes, we return to plaster reveals, make good external render and pointing, and decorate where required. The customer gets a finished result — not a new window in a half-finished wall.

Window Company FAQs
Can you check and replace lintels before we measure and order?
Yes — and we recommend this as standard before new windows are ordered for older properties. A failed or undersized lintel that is only discovered on installation day is expensive for everyone. We survey the structural condition of openings, replace lintels where required, and give you a confirmed opening size to order against.
Can you form new openings where a customer wants a larger window or bifold doors?
Yes. Enlarging or forming new openings in masonry or timber-frame walls, installing structural steel where required, and obtaining building control sign-off are standard parts of our work. We produce the structurally sound, correctly sized opening that your product needs.
Will you come back after our installation to finish the reveals and decorating?
Yes. We schedule a return visit after your installation is complete to plaster reveals, make good internal and external finishes, and carry out any decorating required. We coordinate this around your installation programme so the customer is not waiting weeks for the building work to be finished after the windows are in.
Do you work on listed buildings and conservation area properties?
Yes. Heritage and conservation area windows require planning consent and conservation officer engagement. We are experienced in the construction side of listed building works and can coordinate with your specialist joinery supplier and the local authority on the building preparation and reinstatement.
